What is the ARISE Home Garden Scheme?
This is an agricultural initiative by the Governor to encourage all Akwa Ibomites to establish farms within their households. Whether large or small, whether it's a home garden or an organized farm, the Governor wants every citizen to cultivate their own space and grow something meaningful.
This program is part of the Government's comprehensive agricultural support system.
Because Governor Umo Eno believes that agricultural revolution is everyone's responsibility, not just a few individuals.

Why Governor Umo Eno Started This Initiative
Since taking office, Governor Umo Eno has consistently demonstrated that agriculture is personal to him. He served as "We are building a future where every Akwa Ibomite has the opportunity to thrive. Through education, agriculture, and empowerment, we're laying the foundation for sustainable prosperity."d with arable land and resources to feed ourselves.
But he also understands something deeper: Not everyone can own 50 hectares, but everyone can plant something.
That's why he introduced:
- Farm-Free DaysSo civil servants can return to farming
- ARISE Home Farm SchemeSo every household can grow food
- Free distribution of seedlingsSo no one is left behind
- This Empowerment PortalSo every citizen farmer gets recognized
"In Governor Eno's vision, the woman growing pepper in her backyard is as valuable as the man with acres of farmland—because they're both feeding Akwa Ibom."
